TODAY: Areas of dense fog this morning. Partly sunny. Visibility one quarter mile or less at times this morning. Highs in the upper 70s. Northeast winds around 5 mph, becoming south this afternoon. DENSE FOG ADVISORY until 8 AM. Harrisburg’s disappeared like the state budget — you can’t see City Island or the Capitol until the fog lifts. The Susquehanna’s out there somewhere. By afternoon we go partly sunny and upper 70s, but that morning commute on I-83 and the Harvey Taylor Bridge was a whiteout drill. Hershey can’t even see the Kissing Tower right now.
TONIGHT: Cloudy. Scattered showers after midnight. Patchy fog after midnight. Lows in the lower 60s. South winds around 5 mph in the evening, becoming light and variable. Chance of rain 50 percent. Clouds move in like lobbyists before a vote. After midnight, scattered showers and patchy fog roll back through Dauphin County. 50/50 shot you’re waking up to wet pavement again. If you’re parked near Paxton Creek, double-check that drain.
WEDNESDAY: Cloudy. Scattered showers in the morning. Patchy fog in the morning. Humid with highs around 80. West winds around 5 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent. Morning fog hangs around Hershey like the smell of chocolate — sticky and everywhere. Clouds own the sky and we’re humid with a high near 80. Scattered showers in the morning keep Front Street damp, but it’s not a total washout. 40% means you roll the dice.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 50s. Northwest winds around 5 mph. Clouds break up late. Upper 50s. Calm enough for a walk through Riverfront Park if the mosquitoes don’t carry you off first.
THURSDAY: Sunny. Highs in the mid 70s. North winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. High pressure finally adjourns the clouds. Sunny, mid 70s, but north winds gusting to 25 mph. Your flags at the Capitol Complex will be standing at attention. It’s the first day this week that actually feels like May and not a swamp.
Dauphin County Bottom Line: Dense fog this morning — don’t drive like you’re late for a committee hearing. Partly sunny today, upper 70s. Tonight: cloudy, 50% chance scattered showers after midnight, patchy fog, lows lower 60s. Wednesday: cloudy, morning showers and fog, humid high around 80, 40% rain.
