Forecast for Sunday, July 12, 2026

Well...would you look at that.

The atmosphere finally decided to cooperate. After what feels like two weeks of dodging thunderstorms and watching the radar every afternoon, today is a nice reminder that Pennsylvania can actually produce decent weather once in a while.

Expect sunshine, comfortable humidity, and afternoon highs in the lower 80s across Dauphin County. Whether you're spending the day at City Island, taking a walk around Fort Hunter, heading out to Hershey, fishing at Stover's Dam, or just trying to catch up on yard work, the weather isn't going to be the reason your plans change.

Tonight will be clear and comfortable with lows dropping into the upper 50s.

Monday looks like a carbon copy with sunshine and highs around 80 degrees. Then summer remembers it's the middle of July. Heat and humidity return Tuesday and Wednesday with highs climbing into the 90s and heat index values pushing past 100 degrees in some locations. By late week, another cold front brings the next opportunity for showers and thunderstorms.

Bottom Line for Dauphin County

If you've been waiting for one of those rare July days where opening the windows actually makes sense instead of turning your house into a sauna...today's your day.

Enjoy every minute of it because by the middle of the week, the air conditioner will be back on full-time and you'll remember exactly what a Pennsylvania summer feels like.

And since this is my last forecast before vacation, here's your reminder...I'll be back with daily forecasts on Saturday, July 18.

Try not to melt while I'm gone...and if the weather decides to behave all week, I'd really appreciate it waiting until I get back before doing anything stupid.
